Based on my last post, it is apparent that my brother and I are reunited! Woot woot! As my partner in crime, we basically do everything together. Whether it be eating, goofing around, shopping, or just lying around doing nothing.
I hate exercising. I suffered in every physical education class I was in. The only exercise I’ve ever seriously done is typing on my phone with my fingers or walking towards my classroom. However, it is a fact that exercising is a necessary action in human life. Thus, I have to do it. For health and for beauty. Tiis ganda lang.
Misery loves company, they say. So I thought, why not ask my brother to join me? We’re both trying to live a healthy lifestyle, and this is a way for us to fulfil it! It’s really hard though. With new restos popping around, it’s so difficult to maintain a healthy diet! The struggle is real. That’s why, I’ve decided to just burn off the calories I intake with exercise.
My brother, as usual, agreed to partake in this road to fitness of mine (not like he has any choice not to 😉 ).
The thing with my logic when it comes to food and dieting is that it’s very messed up. I decided that since I actually moved and sweated a lot, I deserved a reward. Besides, I heard that it’s good to eat after exercising because the body is still burning the calories (palusot!).
Since we’re near Megamall, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat at Frankie’s New York Buffalo Wings.
My brother and his barkada would always eat at Frankie’s whenever they go out, and he has taken me there on multiple occasions, so the place is always a good choice. We’ve always ordered the classic flavor, but this time we decided to try something new! 🙂
The Menu. Simple and easy to chose from.
For some reason, I would often get lost in Megamall, with its Building A & B, and now its newly built Fashion Hall. and so it was hard to remember where Frankie’s was. Usually, I would just follow my brother and realize that ‘oh, I’m here already‘. It’s hard having a poor sense of direction *cries*
The food hall is very colorful and bright, but it’s a bit small so it might be easy to miss. There are plenty of chairs to sit on and the selection is quite refreshing. It’s nice because it’s not your typical stuffy and noisy food court. You can actually enjoy good conversations while having good food.
Onto the buffalo wings!
Who doesn’t love buffalo wings anyway?
We chose Garlic Parmesan and Honey Garlic as the flavors of our buffalo wings (hindi naman halata na mahilig kami sa garlic). Other flavors include Frankie’s Classic Buffalo, Nagoya Tebasaki, Hickory BBQ, Smokey BBQ, Honey Mustard, Cheesy Bacon, Asian Zing, Salt & Pepper, and Caribbean Jerk. I recommend pairing the wings with a dip so as to not be umay with them. My brother and I love the Blue Cheese Dip, so that’s what we ordered.
1/2 Dozen Garlic Parmesan Buffalo Wings (P188.00). I’d give this:
1/2 Dozen Honey Garlic Buffalo Wings (P188.00). I’d give this:
The wings must have looked really good because a woman approached me and asked where I ordered them. The Garlic Parmesan had just the right amount of saltiness and the blend of the ingredients is really good. The Honey Garlic, however, is too sticky and sweet. I like my wings salty or spicy. I think that the flavor suits spareribs more than buffalo wings. My brother and I concluded that the classic one is still the best flavor, along with his personal favorite, the Carribean Jerk.
In this case, the statement ‘the original is always better’ definitely applied, but it doesn’t hurt to try out new flavors or dishes. That’s what adventures and trying new things are all about, they do not always entail good outcomes, but they bring about certain lessons. At the end of the day, one can still learn something from a new experience, so when the next opportunity comes, he/she would know what to do.
After all, what is life without the thrill of novelty? 😉
It is without doubt that my brother and I will be back again here at Frankie’s. Whatever the flavor may be, one cannot deny the crispiness of the wings that will have him/her coming back. Plus, it’s the kind of food that’s good to munch on while chilling. Perhaps we can expect a new flavor when we come back? We’ll see!
P.S. I can’t wait for this to open!
