Finally! After a bazillion lightyears I now have a new post up!
I am terribly sorry for the long delay of this post for I have been swamped with debut preparations (plus anxiety) and birthday celebrations, which I will write about in this blog soon! ❤
With that being said, a few days back, I was in Makati Shangri-la with my mother and brother for a meeting with my debut suppliers. Hence, we decided to head to Blackbird Makati, which was just a few kilometers away, for a quick lunch before going to Purple Oven to buy some pastries.
I am certain that most people, if not all, have heard about Blackbird, whether it be about their cuisine or interiors. Having been one of these people, I was quite eager to check it out myself because of the curiosity, and it definitely met my expectations!
I must say, the interior of the place is très très chic! They have a beautiful lounge area and bar where the lights are dim, but walk a few more steps and you’ll see the bright dining area with a grand staircase leading up to a more intimate nook.
The Grand Staircase. and my mom hehe.
The Dining Area
Of course, let us not forget about their bathroom, which I have heard so much about!
The Bathroom. So chic! It reminds of the bathrooms in boutique hotels.
The bathroom had so many mirrors I just had to take a picture lol pagbigyan
I immediately fell in love with the interiors, especially with how the walls are adorned with glass windows where the sunlight seeps through, thus creating a lovely effect in the process. It’s just like a huge dining area of a house where you invite your guests in; it is such a nice place to have a chat! I’m still gushing about it until now haha!
Onto the food!
Blackbird offers European and Asian cuisine, so their food might be a little confusing to the palate, but this can be a great edge as well. If you’re feeling like eating European cuisine, but at the same time your friend wants to eat Asian food, then you can go to Blackbird to get the best of both worlds!
Flat Iron Steak, Kimchi, Green Onion and Ginger, Lettuce, Hot Sauce (P980.00). I’d give this:
Dry Rubbed Wagyu Hanger Steak, Mustard Butter and Fries (P980.00). I’d give this:
Pappardelle, Duck Ragout, Mascarpone, Rosemary Chili Crumbs (P540.00). I’d give this:
Italian Sausage, Fennel, Tomatoes, Mozzarella, and Chili (P480.00). I’d give this:
My mother had the Wagyu, while I ordered the Flat Iron Steak. My brother opted for the pasta since he wanted to try something other than meat. The Wagyu and the Flat Iron Steak were both pleasant and the pasta was creamy and cheesy. We had the Italian sausage pizza as well while eating our respective orders. It tasted quite ordinary though. There was nothing immensely spectacular about the dishes we ordered, but they were still good nonetheless.
I had a grand time in Blackbird, and I’ll surely revisit the place to try out more of their food and enjoy the wonderful ambience again!
